Join Dr. Mike Bossley; Environmentalist, scientist and advocate for better protection and understanding of whales and dolphins for 50 years, as he delves into the mysteries of whale strandings, offering insights and actionable solutions.

Mike has been a university academic, a leader of Greenpeace, and Australian of the Year (SA). Join us as he talks about why whales strand and how we can help to stop this phenomenon.

Mike has worked as a university lecturer and as an environmental advocate with organisations such as Greenpeace and Whale & Dolphin conservation. He has been active in research and marine conservation work at the local, national, and international level for fifty years and has published many papers in international scientific journals. 

Mike was Australian of the Year (South Australia) in 2005 and was awarded the Order of Australia in 2006 for his marine conservation work. In 2022 he received a Lifetime Achievement award from the SA Conservation Council.

Dr Mike Bossley is the author of the book Whales, Dolphins and me which will be available for purchase at the event through Moonglow Publishing.
