Kondoli Lantern Parade

Witness the magic of the Kondoli Lantern Parade, a luminous highlight of the festival. The procession winds its way around Warland Reserve, ending with a special community celebration.

Created through a series of workshops, the glowing whale lanterns reflect stories of Kondoli and the connection between people, place and ocean. Gather along the route or join the parade as it moves towards the final storytelling moment by the sea.

This is a free, family-friendly event — no bookings required.

Joining the parade? Be at Railway Plaza near the train station by 4:30pm

Get involved! Dress up if you like, bring your torches, glow in the dark decorations or home made lanterns and light up the night! If you would like to be a large lantern holder please register your interest here. Or if you would like to make a large item for inclusion in the parade please let us know by registering details here.  This is a walking parade, so entries must be suitable to be carried, worn, pushed or pulled by hand across lawn/open reserve space. Vehicle-driven floats are not suitable for this event.Bring your lantern, your costumes, your glow and come ready to be moved.

Free entry. All welcome. All you need to bring is your light, warm clothes, pack a rain jacket just in case!
